It’s hard to believe, but this is Vintage Albuquerque’s 22nd year. What started in 1992 as a small fundraiser for the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra has grown into the largest wine auction event in the southwest. In 2010, Vintage Albuquerque became an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting much-needed art education programs and outreach activities focused on K-12 students in the city and state.
Each year, a leading figure from the wine industry serves Vintage Albuquerque as its Honorary Chair. For 2013, we are honored to have the renowned Harry Peterson-Nedry of Oregon's Chehalem Winery fill that role. Past chairs have included Jim Clenendan (Au Bon Climat), Peter Mondavi, Sr. (Charles Krug), Dan Duckhorn (Duckhorn), Mireille Guilano (Clicquot), Richard Ponzi (Ponzi), Roberto Stucchi (Badia a Coltibuono), Michaela Rodeno (St. Supery), Craig Williams (Joseph Phelps), Beth Novak Milliken (Spottswoode), Justin Baldwin (Justin) and Merry Edwards (Merry Edwards).
From its early years, Vintage Albuquerque has been a venue for creative expression —fine wine, music and related art forms. Integral to Vintage Albuquerque is the designation annually of a featured artist who donates a work of art, that is sold during the live auction. Vintage Albuquerque 2013 is pleased to feature the work of the talented and highly regarded, Sarah Blumenschein.
Much has changed over the years and the Duke City now rivals The City Different as a center for culinary excellence and great wine offerings. We invite you to attend all the June events and watch for other Vintage Albuquerque happenings throughout the year...fun, food, wine and a great cause!
